Welcome to the Salem's Steel Valley Super National's Expert Tire After Party Raffle Info! The Steel ValleySuper Nationals weekend June 19-22, 2008, started out promising to be another record breaking year. Starting with the Dunkin Donuts Kick Off Cruise on Thursday at the Baskin Robins-Dunkin Donuts location at the east end of town (near Wal-Mart). There was a very nice showing of cruise cars until about 9:45 pm, when the rain started. Friday's evening this year was even bigger than Saturday of last year's with the Stadium GM Burn Out Pit being another huge hit! With a great deal of anticipation and excitement, we waited and prayed for the rains to pass over us on Saturday. But, it was not meant to be. Both Saturday and Sunday, Mother Nature showed us once again who is in control! Overall though, the restaurants, pubs and other food establishments saw a surge as the rain chased the spectators indoors til the rain passed. Some establishments were quoted as saying they could hardly handle the crowds! Nice problem! We, the promoters, on the other hand need to make up the deficeit, With the increased costs of so many factors and the reduced income, we have had to be creative in making up the difference. So, we have arranged for a brand new ,(less than 1 mile), 2008 Yamaha V Star 650 Custom Motorcycle from Andrews Cycle to be raffled Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Tickets are available at our local supporters, or contact us by email We will continue to find ways to bring the 'After Party Cruisin' to Salem' with your support. We wil also be posting information on www.ohiobikers.com for the drawing date, estimated to be around late August, this year of course. So, stay posted and buy your raffle tickets, early and often!!! Burn Outs: The Salem Police Dept would like to remind you that we have a burn out pit at the Stadium GM Superstore on West State Street. It's free. Our blacktop is not. For safety's sake, with such a narrow streets and sidewalk areas...lined with people....burnouts on the street are absolutely forbidden. Since we want to make sure the city welcomes us back year after year, please try to control the urge to inhale large quantities of rubber smoke. At least till it's your turn in the pit. We've made arrangements for the burn out pit, including safety barriers, so please avoid the hook and take advantage of Stadium GM's hospitality. The burn out pit WILL be open all three days this year!!! :o) Fuel: CAM II Racing Fuel will be available Friday and Saturday ONLY UNTIL 7:00 PM at Salem Oil, 445 Prospect St., Salem, 44460, 330-337-3561 (Turn south at the traffic light at the speedway gas station on W. State St., cross the RR tracks and take the first road to the right.) Towing: AAA will have extra trucks on hand for the entire weekend. If you're over heating, we've got cruise hot rod parking lots from Wal-Mart on the east end to The Pizza Pan on the west end, Salem Chyrsler Jeep Dodge on the north end to Stooges and The Foxes Den on the south. And others in between. See the the cruise map for details. BIKERS: Absolutely NO WHEELIES!!! CRUISERS: Last year, we had a few nut cases remove their plates, hoping to not get caught abusing a fun filled weekend. Others tryed to cover them over with tape and paper. Obscured and missing license plates mean you're trying to get away with something. Not good......and not tolerated!!! That one's an automatic ticket!!! If you like this event. If you're happy that a town has actually invited the event with open arms.....please do you're part to help keep the sanity. Don't hesitate to kindly ask an overly rambuncsious cruiser to cool it!!!
